The Data Interoperability extension is grayed out in ArcGIS Pro

Description
When attempting to open the Data Interoperability extension from ArcGIS Pro, the FME Workbench and Data Inspector are grayed out.
Cause
Note: In general, ArcGIS extensions and solutions are only compatible with the version of ArcGIS in use.
The Data Interoperability extension may be inactive for the following reasons;
- There is no access to the Data interoperability extension for ArcGIS Pro
- ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro has not been downloaded and installed from My Esri
- Running a version of ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro that is not compatible with the version of ArcGIS Pro
Solution or Workaround
To access the FME Workbench and Data Inspector, ensure that the following steps have been completed:
- Ensure that the Data interoperability extension for ArcGIS Pro is licensed
- Ensure that the correct version of ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro has been downloaded and installed
- Each major version of ArcGIS Pro requires downloading and installing another version of ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro. For example, if you are successfully using the Data Interop extension in ArcGIS Pro 2.7.x and update to ArcGIS Pro 2.8.x, you must also download the version of ArcGIS Data Interoperability that comes with ArcGIS Pro 2.8.
ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro can be downloaded from My Esri as follows:
- Sign in to My Esri as a user with download permissions.
- Navigate to My Organizations > Downloads > All Versions.
- Select the drop-down option next to ArcGIS Pro and select the desired version of ArcGIS Pro.
- Select View Downloads next to the drop-down.
- Navigate to ArcGIS Data Interoperability for Pro and select Download.
- Once downloaded, open the installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
